Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2025

1. Purpose of the site

CNIC.PK is an educational Python scraping project that aggregates publicly available telecom signals for research and cybersecurity awareness. We built it to demonstrate data-cleaning workflows, not to operate as a commercial data broker.

2. Information we collect

  • No user registration or login is required.
  • We do not store the numbers you search or the results you view.
  • Standard web server logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamps) are collected for security and performance monitoring and are automatically purged.

3. Data sources

All lookup results are compiled from open directories, telecom regulatory bulletins, and other publicly accessible resources. CNIC.PK does not access private government databases or restricted operator systems.

4. Use of data

Search results are meant for reference, safety education, and research practice. You are responsible for verifying information through official channels before taking action.

5. Cookies & tracking

We may use anonymised analytics and Google AdSense cookies to keep the service free. These third-party providers have their own privacy policies; you can opt out via your browser settings or Google’s Ads Preferences.

6. Data retention

Because we don’t store lookup results, there is no long-term retention of personal data. Basic server logs are kept for a short period (typically 30 days) for security diagnostics.

7. User responsibilities

By using CNIC.PK you agree to:

  • Use information solely for lawful, non-abusive purposes.
  • Respect individual privacy and Pakistan’s PECA Act.
  • Avoid scraping, harvesting, or redistributing data for unsolicited marketing or harassment.

8. Third-party links

Our site may link to telecom operators, government portals, or educational resources. We do not control their content or policies, so review those before interacting.

9. Policy updates

We may revise this policy as the project evolves. The “Effective date” at the top will reflect the last update. Significant changes will also be flagged on the homepage.

10. Contact

Questions or concerns? Reach us at hello@cnic.pk. We're happy to explain how the project works or remove content that was indexed incorrectly.
